Diverse multigenerational students on a college campus

Program 2 of 3

Learning to Stay Agilities

Build the strengths, supports and habits you need to keep moving through college, training, a certificate or an apprenticeship.

What Is Learning to Stay Agilities?

Learning to Stay Agilities helps students and young adults enter education or training, remain engaged and complete the next meaningful milestone.

This program addresses the real reasons students leave: life stress, financial pressure, disability-related barriers, lack of support, and the belief that they cannot make it. We work alongside students to remove those barriers and build the agilities — the flexible, practical skills — that make staying possible.

Learning to Stay Agilities is available through the Community Track and, for eligible students, through DVR Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS).

DVR Pre-ETS

DVR Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS)

DVR Pre-Employment Transition Services may be available to eligible students with disabilities, generally ages 15–21, who meet Colorado DVR requirements and receive the required written authorization.

DVR determines eligibility and service approval. Pre-ETS services through DCDC focus on self-advocacy instruction, work-based learning readiness, and the persistence skills that support both school completion and the transition to employment.

Pre-ETS services are delivered only when DVR provides written authorization. All services follow DVR's scope, documentation, and billing requirements.

What Participants Gain

Stronger self-advocacy skills and confidence navigating systems

Practical strategies for managing academic and life demands at the same time

Knowledge of available supports and how to access them

A clearer understanding of disability-related strengths and how to use accommodations

Completion of the program or course they were at risk of leaving

A stronger foundation for the next step — whether that is SHAPED for Destiny or another pathway

How Learning to Stay Is Funded
