What Is SHAPED for Destiny?
Agilities are groups of work activities people use in every job. Your strongest Agilities show the kinds of work you currently enjoy and do well.
SHAPED for Destiny Agilities helps people connect purpose and work strengths to career preparation, employment, retention, advancement and community contribution.
This program is for people who are ready to move into employment — or who are already working but need support to stay employed and advance. It combines career coaching, job preparation, employer connections, and on-the-job support.
SHAPED for Destiny is available through the Community Track and, when authorized, through DVR Supported Employment and other vocational rehabilitation services.
Who SHAPED for Destiny Helps
Adults and youth who are ready to enter the workforce for the first time
People who have been out of work and need support re-entering employment
DVR clients whose vocational goal is competitive integrated employment
Workers with disabilities who need job coaching or supported employment services
Employed individuals who need support to stay in their job and advance
Graduates of Bridge to Success or Learning to Stay who are ready for the next step
What SHAPED for Destiny Includes
Career discovery and target selection

Agilities evidence and career value statement
Build an evidence profile of your top Agilities and create a career value statement that shows employers what you bring.
Résumé and cover letter development
Create a targeted résumé and cover letter that reflect your strengths and speak to the employers you want to reach.
Interview preparation using STARE stories
Practice answering interview questions with structured stories that show your skills and experience in action.
AI and digital workplace preparation
Learn to use AI and digital tools that are part of today's workplace — so you are ready from day one.
Job search and employer connection
Get support finding job openings, connecting with employers, and navigating the application and hiring process.
Job retention and advancement coaching
On-the-job coaching, workplace problem-solving, and support to help you stay employed and grow in your role.

Job search support, employer connections, application assistance, and guided entry into competitive integrated employment. DCDC works alongside participants through the hiring process.

Stay
Build roots in your workplace.
On-the-job coaching, workplace problem-solving, accommodation support, and the skills that help new employees navigate their first weeks and months successfully.

Grow
Advance toward your destiny.
Career advancement planning, skills development, mentoring, and the long-term support that helps workers move from entry-level employment toward the career they were shaped for.

DVR Vocational Rehabilitation Services
SHAPED for Destiny services may be delivered as DVR vocational rehabilitation services, including Supported Employment, Job Development, Job Coaching, and other authorized services.
DVR services are available only to eligible clients when DVR provides written authorization for the approved service. All services follow DVR's scope, documentation, and billing requirements.
DCDC is a DVR-approved vendor. DVR counselors may refer eligible clients directly through the CARE Intake or by contacting DCDC to discuss a referral.

How SHAPED for Destiny Is Funded
Community services may be supported by grants, employers, workforce partners, sponsors, or participant fees when appropriate. No DVR authorization is required.
